South Court Inn Bed and Breakfast Luray, VA

My husband and I stayed at the inn for the weeked in the cottage. The accomodations were fantastic, and made for a relaxing, romantic get-away. The linens were wonderful. The bed was comfortable, and the set-up of the cottage made it feel like a little home away from home. Tom and Anita go out of their way to ensure a remarkable stay for all of their guests. The inn itself is in the quaint town of Luray. We enjoyed walking around the town. The main part of the town is about a 1/2 mile walk from the inn, which is the perfect distance for walking to and from dinner and enjoying views along the way. Normally, I would give more details about the accomodations, but as wonderful as they were, the thing that will always stand out in my mind about this weekend is the two incredible breakfasts that we had. Words cannot describe how good these breakfasts were. On Saturday morning, we had a wonderful fruit salad in a secret sauce. The fruit was flavorful, and the sauce was amazing. I wish I could figure out the secret ingredient. The fruit was followed by pumpkin-stuffed french toast and slowly cooked sausage. It was a perfectly prepared french toast with a pumpkin chiffon in the middle. It was beyond amazing. The sausage was the best I've ever had. As if all of that is not enought, Tom has the coffee blended to his specifications, and the coffee is wonderful also. I was prepared for a disappointment on Sunday morning. I didn't think that Tom and Anita could ever prepare another breakfast as good as the first one. Wow . . .was I wrong! On Sunday, we had a Morrell Mushroom Souffle with bacon and toast. It was incredible. The souffle was light and airy and full of flavor. The bacon was cooked to perfection. As if that weren't enough, it was followed by a puff pastry served with a slow-baked pear with butterscotch sauce. Perfection! These two breakfasts easily fall on my list of top ten meals I've ever had. It was so nice to be able to enjoy this level of dining while also enjoying an overall casual atmosphere. Tom and Anita are very knowledgeable about Victorian service, and I loved hearing the stories that they could tell about it and about the house. If you are looking for a romantic and relaxing weekend, enjoy a weekend at the South Court Inn. Not only will you be pampered, but you will enjoy some of the best breakfasts you have ever had.
