At the Lavender Inn, we strive to be GREEN, to conserve our environmental resources. We promote ecological consciousness in every aspect while providing quality hospitality to our guests. We eliminated plastic water bottles in the guest rooms replacing them with filtered water carafes. We encourage guests to use towels and linens twice if they stay more than one night. Our eco-friendly household cleaning products protects our guests and our staff. We donate household items, use some compact fluorescent light bulbs, and this year have purchased energy efficient refrigerator, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. We have an organic vegetable and herb garden, and most of our purchased foods are organic.

The Bed & Breakfast program that is helping to save lives around the world by donating discarded soaps & shampoos so that those less fortunate can benefit from the practices of good hygiene.
3.5 million children under the age of 5 will die this year to two deadly diseases - acute respiratory infection & diarrheal disease. Even more tragic than these is the facts that these deaths could be prevented by up to 65% through simple hand washing with bar soap.
Today in the United States alone, we will throw away 1-1.5 million bars of soap.
The Lavender Inn has joined Clean the World in their effort to help save one million lives each year by donating it's slightly-used soap and shampoo. These products often end up in landfills and contaminate fragile ground water systems.

Learn to ride in Kentucky's horse country. At First Farm Inn you'll learn how to communicate with your trusty equine friend and convince all 900-1,500 pounds of him to do what you want. Then we ride over the hills and through the woods keeping an eye out for other wild and domesticated creatures. Rides generally only include up to five riders and one or two instructors. After you make your horse comfortable, you can stretch out and watch the sun set from the outdoor hot tub. Wake up smelling the delicious all-you-can-eat breakfast, then take the horses out again and practice the new skills your body has integrated during the night.
