Directions: Boone, NC--Eastern NC Hwy. 421 west through Boone (W.King Street) to Tennessee then north on 421 to Mountain City. Then to Hwy. 67/Main St.--Left at the 4th traffic light (Exxon & RiteAid) 2 1/2 blocks (counting on left) to inn on left, immediately after County Health Dept. and just before the Catholic Church. ONLY brick and rail fence on this road. Abingdon, Va. I-81 to Virginia Exit 19. Hwy. 58 south to Damascus, Va. Then Hwy. 91 south to Mountain City. Right at first light (W. Main St.). Through town. 2 1/2 blocks past Exxon, counting on left. Inn is on left, immediately after county health dept. Only property with brick column and wood rail fence. Johnson City/Elizabethton, TN At I-26, to Johnson City's [new]Exit 24/old Exit 31. Go north onto Hwy. 321-67 to Elizabethton.Follow signs (all 4-lane). Right at Food City, still on 67-321. Travel to Hampton. Left onto Hwy 321-67 at Hampton (Texaco) onto 2-lane. Hwy. 67 all the way to Mountain City (do not follow Hwy. 321 when it turns off). Inn is on right, 1 mile past welcome sign and 2 1/2 blocks BEFORE first traffic light. Next to Catholic Church. Bristol, TN-VA Hwy. 421 from Bristol is about 30 mi. to Mountain City. This is a VERY curving, narrow road. Some people become car sick. Alternate route: See Abingdon directions. If driving this way: Hwy. 421 to first light in Mountain City at the RiteAid.. Turn right onto Hwy. 67. Inn is 2 1/2 blocks (counting on left) on the left. Time: 1 hour, same as via Abingdon. Northern Virginia I-81 to Virginia Exit 29 at Glade Spring. South on Hwy. 91 to Mountain City. Right at first light (Main Street). 2 1/2 blocks past Exxon @ Hwy. 421, counting on left. Inn is on the left.do not follow Mapquest--road at Glade Spring was straightened and directions do not apply. South Carolina-Florida I-26 through Asheville to Johnson City. Exit onto Hwy. 67-321 (old Exit 31). Go to Elizabethton, turn right, then to Hampton, all on 67-321, a 4-lane. Turn left in Hampton, onto a 2-lane, still 67-321. By Watauga Lake, 321 turns off (hard right). DO NOT turn. Follow Hwy.67 to Mountain City. We are 1 mile past the "welcome" sign at approx. milepost 16.5. We are immediately after the Catholic Church (on right). IF you reach the first light, you missed us by 6 properties. |
